Budding Friendships was an intergenerational project between Harlow Green Primary School and Angel Court Sheltered Living Scheme in Gateshead. I supported these two groups to raise £20,000 for a joint programme of activities that included environmental and outdoor learning, filmmaking, arts and crafts, gardening and landscaping, small scale eco building, and so much more.
We all had an absolute blast and the partnership created between these two places is strong as ever, with the children from school insisting they visit the older people in their own time – even on Christmas Day!
